Practice Nurse Clinics
Clinics are held daily 09:00am - 12:00pm and some afternoons (times may vary)
Our Practices Nurses provide a range of nursing services including appointments for:
Asthma and Spirometry monitoring; Diabetic checks; Heart disease prevention; Travel advice and injections; Baby and child immunisation; Cervical smears; Breast self examination; Sexual health advice; Ear syringing; Dressings and sulture removal; Dieatary advice; Hypertension (B.P.) monitoring; New patient checks; HRT advice; Yellow fever vaccination.
Treatment Room Nurse
Our Treatment Room Nurse is able to take bloods and conduct ECG monitoring every morning
District Nurses
A team of District Nurses provide skilled care for patients in their own homes (those not well enough to visit the surgery or for whom home care is more appropriate).
Ante-Natal Clinic
Midwife held clinics on Wednesday morning and Friday.
Child Health Surveillance and Immunisation
Routine periodic clinics covering children from birth to school age carried out by the Heath visitor and Practice Nurse.
Family Planning
Dr Hobbs is trained in fitting both copper and Mirena IUCDs. Advice can be given on all forms of contraception.
Tests and Results
Morning appointments should be booked for tests such as blood and urine samples (before 12:30 to meet hospital analysis timings). For test results, please ring between 2:00pm and 3:30pm (when the switchboard is less busy).
Counselling
A private Counselling Service is available via referral. Please ask at reception for the relevant number(s).
Chiropractic Services
A private (non NHS funded) Chiropractor works out of the surgery (two afternoons a week).
Minor Surgery
Suspicious skin lesions and 'lumps and bumps' can be excised under local anaesthetic by a visting consultant from the Royal Surrey County Hospital (who visits every two weeks). Please consult your doctor first.
Wart Clinic
Veruccas and Warts (only) may be treated with liquid nitrogen by Dr Bashforth. Please ask at reception for an appointment (1st and 3rd Tuesdays in the month).
Homeopathy
A private (non NHS funded) Homeopath works out of the surgery on Tuesday mornings.
Medical Examinations
Special arrangements are available for private medical examinations.
Patient Participation Group
This is a patient led voluntary group which provides a forum for discussion about the development of services provided by the surgery and actively conducts fund raising for new surgery equipment. Your support would be very welcome including donations to the PPG.
